Donnybrook is a small coastal town and locality that is situated in the Moreton Bay Region in Queensland, Australia. The locality is 60 kilometers or 37 miles north of Brisbane, which is the state capital. It is surrounded by the localities of Elimbah, Beerburrum, Toorbul, Meldale, and the Pumicestone Passage.

The town name was approved by the Queensland Place Names Board last October 1, 1975. Historically, the town’s name appears to be taken from a corroboree site, or because of fights amongst oyster gatherers at weekend camps. From a small fishing community, the town has since progressively developed into a minor tourist destination. Meanwhile, the Pumicestone Post Office opened on 1 August 1958 and it was later renamed as Donnybrook in 1976.

There are several activities that can be done in Donnybrook. Although commercial fishing has reduced the quantity and quality of catches, fishing remains a popular activity due to its proximity to Pumicestone Passage which opens up in Moreton Bay to the south, and Caloundra to the north. The passage separates Bribie Island from the mainland. It is frequented by dolphins, dugongs and turtles and parts of it have been declared a Marine Park. Mud crabs were also once sizeable and in abundance in the locality.
