Kippa-Ring is one of the suburbs in Moreton Bay Region, Queensland, Australia. It is located at the center of the Redcliffe Peninsula which is approximately 27km northeast of Brisbane, the state capital. The suburbs surrounding Kippa-Ring are Rothwell, Newport, Redcliffe, Margate, and Clontarf. 

The name “Kippa-Ring” is a combination of the word “kippa”, an indigenous word meaning young uninitiated man, and “ring”, in reference to the bora ring. The suburb is designated as the commercial, retail, and financial centre in the Redcliffe Region. The Kippa-Ring houses are the bulk of the commercial and retail sectors on the peninsula, also including the largest shopping centres. 

Up until the 1950s and 1960s, Kippa-Ring was largely undeveloped, with most of the land being used for farming or small-scale commercial use. The schools in the area are Hercules Road State School, Kippa-Ring State School, and Southern Cross Catholic College’s Holy Cross.
