Cashmere is an outer suburb of the Moreton Bay Region, Queensland, Australia. The suburb is located on the north-western outskirts of Brisbane and is surrounded by the following: Samsonvale, Whiteside, Joyner, Warner, Eatons Hill, Clear Mountain, and Mount Samson. 

It is located near the foothills of D’Aguilar Range and bounded to the north by Lake Samsonvale and to the east by Warner. The suburb’s name originated from James Cash, an early property owner in the area. Cash had land on the South Pine River at Eatons Hill and Albany Creek. Cash’s Crossing is a ford on South Pine Road at the river crossing. 

In 1979, Cashmere was formally named. The word “mere” is Old English meaning “lake” or “pond.” Most of the land on the border of Lake Samsonvale and Cashmere consists of the state forest. The rural and residential acreages in the suburb can be found in the settled part near Warner and the One Mile Creek linear park.
