Petrie is a suburb in the Moreton Bay Region in Queensland, Australia. It is located 24km away from Brisbane and is surrounded by the suburbs Kurwongbah, Kallangur, Lawnton, Joyner, and Whiteside. The suburb is in the North Pine River section of its local government while the southern boundary is marked by the North Pine River. 

Petrie is a suburban village with new housing developments on land which was previously used for pine plantations and agriculture. The Petrie railway station provides access to regular Queensland Rail City network services going to Caboolture and Sunshine Coast, as well as Brisbane and Ipswich. The Gympie Road, Dayboro Road, and Anzac Avenue roundabout junction and other surrounding areas encompass the town centre. 

The suburb’s name came from Tom Petrie, one of the early inhabitants of the area. The township was called North Pine but became known as Petrie after his death. The heritage listings in the suburb are Anzac Avenue, Murrumba Homestead Grounds, Petrie State School, North Coast Roadside Rest Areas, and Sweeney Reserve.
